Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province is ranked as one of the most livable places in China. Due to its wealth in natural resources, Chengdu is the world’s largest habitat of giant pandas and is still sustained mostly by its agriculture, hence, the city often known as ‘The Land of Abundance’.
Today, the city of Sichuan is home to over 11 million people, and is divided into five districts and twelve counties. Downtown Chengdu is well developed, containing more modern-style architecture than any other city in southwestern China.
