The Li River, running from Guilin to Yangshuo, is the centrepiece of any trip to northeastern Guangxi Province. Guilin's first settlement on the banks of the Li River dates back 314 BC.
The city is not yet a major tourist attraction but nevertheless offers some nice spots and landmarks.
