Ancient Music and Performing Arts
Traditional Naxi classical music is described as the 'living fossil of Chinese music' and it can be heard at Dongba Palace and the Naxi Ancient Music Center.
The works are performed by an orchestra that includes many senior members.
The music itself is a combination of traditional Chinese music dating back to the Tang and Yuan dynasties and is played on local instruments, some ancient themselves. This is a not-to-be-missed spectacle.
