Barbarossa Lounge

Bar Rouge

Sitting atop Bund 18, Bar Rouge’s opening back in 2004 signified the beginning of a chic era in Shanghai’s nightlife. Deemed a decadent playground for Shanghai’s elite, Bling never fails to pull in a crowd, even on weekdays. Spinning fresh hip hop beats all night long, the club stays hot all the way through to closing time. Living up to its glitzy name right down to the kind of patrons it attracts, Bling is undoubtedly one of the city’s hottest nightspots. Cloud 9 & Sky Lounge

Located at one of the highest points in the city on the 87th floor of the world’s tallest hotel, Shanghai Grand Hyatt, Cloud 9 offers a lofty, surreal drinking experience with a commanding 360-degree view of the city below. Housed in the mansion of former Kuomintang president, Jiang Kaishi, Sasha’s has become an institution amongst locals and expats alike. Featuring a flamboyant and extravagant interior, this award-winning bar spills out into the garden, where the drinking continues out in the open. Equipped with an extensive liquor and wine list as well as a seasonal cocktail menu, the bar’s skilled bartenders are also able to whip up tailor-made cocktails for patrons.

The Cotton Club

Located in the French Concession area, The Cotton Club is Shanghai’s oldest jazz club. Yongfoo Elite

With three bars under one establishment, Yongfoo Elite is in a league of its own when it comes to trendy, exclusive nightspots. Housed in an elegant 1930s villa in the former French Concession, each of its bars has its own unique characteristic.

The Crystal Bar features a design that is reminiscent of the Roman Empire with its pure-crystal Roman columns, while Mission Bar features a décor that reflects the vibrancy of the city at nighttime. The third bar, the Starshine Nook Bar, is the epitome of classic style with its vintage Gucci sofas and an antique wooden canopy bed in a corner, which can be turned into a private ‘room’.

All three bars feature an extensive wine cellar which covers all major international labels including some rare vintage ones, as well as a range of tipples from classic martinis to exotic cocktails.

Characterised by a strong Latino flavour, Zapata’s Mexican Cantina does not only present authentic Mexican cuisine, but also an authentic Mexican atmosphere.
